Examples of Festivities on the Costa Brava:
April 30 – French Foreign Legion Day or a "Camerone Day". Held in Castelnaudary - France. An annual parade at the main training facility of the Foreign Legion, a demonstration of light weaponry, access to the Legionnaire’s grounds, lunch (for a fee), and a show for children.
May 12 - May 20 – Flower Festival in Girona. Competition of florists from leading floral design schools of Catalonia, Spain and France; Fresh flower arrangements on the streets, squares and courtyards of the old city.
July 21 - July 28 – Firework Festival in Blanes. The annual fireworks competition, pyrotechnics teams from all regions of Spain, Italy, England and other parts of the world. Each day at 22:45 separate teams have a 45 minute presentation.
August 16 - «Carrefoc» - an annual fire parade in the de Bisbal Empordà, marking the end of the Main Festival of the city. (Starts 22:00)
September 1 – «Festival of Sails» or «Vela Latina» in Cadaqués. Latin Sale boats with more then two thousand years of history meet in Cadaqués, a unique occasion to see many sailing boats from all the parts of Costa Brava. (Starts at 10:00)
Second Sunday in September - Fishermens holiday in la Escala. Theatrical performance portraying 18th century traditional life of local fishermen: fishermen’s departing from the beach of the Escala, fishing, returning to shore, pulling of the nets, cleaning and cooking of the fish. (Dates need to be verified).
September 27 - International Tourism Day - Fireworks on the Beach of Lloret de Mar.
October 7 – Feast of Anchovies in la Escala. Return of the fishermen with a catch of anchovies and sardines, everyone will be able to taste the internationally acclaimed anchovies of L’Escala; Cooking of sardines on open fire from 11:00 to 15:00.
Every Tuesday – in Besalu, typical Catalan farm market, famous for its sausages, meats, regional wines and liquors.
