Restaurant Guide: The Best in the Port of El Masnou There are thousands of restaurants in vibrant Barcelona and the small towns nearby. Probably half of them offer Mediterranean food and tasty local seafood snacks, such as Deep Fried Baby Squid or Garlic Butter Shrimps. We will gladly share with you the hidden gems where you can find the best delicacies and eats in The Port of El Masnou, located just within 25 minutes train ride from La Plaça de Catalunya!

La Santa: The Mediterranean gem in the Port of El Masnou
One of them is the restaurant La Santa, located in the port of El Masnou. It´s just a half an hour train journey from the heart of the Catalan capital, La Plaça de Catalunya. Highly recommended for fresh food lovers, especially Fantastic starter Burrata in truffle sauce, sun-dried tomatoes and tomato salad. The menú del día, which will definitely blow your mind, includes a starter, main course and dessert. However, every day the chef makes a fantastic rice dish, which can be chosen instead of a starter and main course. The price is 20 EUR per person. Believe us or not, it´s worth it! There are mostly locals (they say the Catalans are stingy) having lunch here and a few travellers, who have tied their boats up in the port.
Opening hours: Wednesday - Saturday from 12:00 to 16: 00 and 20:00 to 23:00 Sunday and Monday from 12:00 to 16:00

Italian trattoria La Pizza di Piero
This charming port also hides another gem, Italian trattoria named La Pizza di Piero. Here you will find a very reasonable menú del día at the price of 12,50 EUR (13,50 including a home-made desert). The chef uses only high-quality products brought from Italy and also grown in Catalonia. But, if you fancy something special and love pasta, do not miss a chance to go for dishes “a la cart” and try Ravioli with Ricotta and Spinach or Vegetable Lasagna. Meat lovers will definitely fall in love with a juicy Gorgonzola Steak, while seafoodies will pay special attention, too - the catch of the day!
Opening hours: Tuesday - Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00 and from 20:00 to 24:00; closed on Mondays

The seafood restaurant El Peix Burleta
If you are in the mood to spend Sunday on the beach and try impressive paella, there is a fantastic place just within half an hour train ride from La Plaça de Catalunya or Arc de Triomf! The line R1 will take you to the picturesque port El Masnou, where you find the rocky beach right next to the port. This harbour hosts different restaurant which suit all tastes and pockets. One of them, El Peix Burleta, is very popular with local families, who come here to enjoy the best seafood and fish on a Sunday afternoon. The menu seems to be a bit pricey, however the food is worth it! That´s the only place in El Mansou, where you get a chance to order a fresh lobster for 26 EUR! The chef also makes delicious Zarzuela, an amazing shellfish stew, which comes from the Catalan coast!
