Jazz Festival (L'Hora del Jazz)
For more than 25 years, the Association of Musicians of Jazz and Contemporary Music of Catalonia (AMJM) has been holding a jazz festival in Barcelona, and this year L'hora del jazz returns to the Catalan capital in September. The main venue for the event will be the Vila de Gracia square, where on 4 consecutive Sundays you will be able to attend 2 free concerts a day. This year the festival will also take place outside the city, in Vilafranca, and at the jazz club Sunset in Girona. The festival will end on the 27th of September in Barcelona at the jazz club JAMBOREE with a concert of the jazz quintet Rai Castells.

Spanish Guitar: Music and Wine
The talented Spanish guitarists invite all comers to a series of concerts that will take place in the walls of the Santa Ana church, where literally everything breathes with history. Musical Evenings on the roof of La Pedrera
The famous building, located on Passeig de Gracia, La Pedrera, designed by world-famous Catalan architect Antonio Gaudi, continues the summer program of jazz evenings in an open area, located on the roof. Barcelona Guitar Trio & Dance
The famous trio from Barcelona, whose members are guitarists Manuel González, Xavier Coll and Luis Robisco, has been a frequent guest at the Palace of Catalan music. In September, the musicians known to all fans of flamenco and Spanish guitar will present the audience "Tribute Paco de Lucia". The Rolling Stones
At the end of September, the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona welcomes on its stage one of the most popular bands of all time, The Rolling Stones. On the 27th of September, 2017 Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood will give their only concert in Spain. According to the organizers, the rock legends will perform such hits as "Paint It Black", "Tumbling Dice" and "Brown Sugar". In addition, the programme will include several songs selected randomly from the repertoire of the band.

Another popular flea market will be held on the 10th of September at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona. Festa Major de Poblenou
From the 8th to 17th of September Festa Major de Poblenou takes place in Barcelona. It offers a fantastic programme, including dance and musical events, sports master classes, a variety of exhibitions, wine and delicacies tastings, craft and design fairs, flea markets and traditional street parades. Do not miss the opportunity to dance to the musical hits of the 70-90s. In addition, the festival will feature performances by contemporary electronic artists, rock musicians and classical music performers in The Poblenou Park and on La Rambla de Poblenou.
On the 14th of September at 18:00 the Plaza d'Espronceda is hosting the Chocolate Festival for kids and their parents! Families might also be interested in theatrical street performances. Correfoc, the culmination of the festival, which is a race of demons with torches, accompanied by noisy pyrotechnic explosions, will take place on the 16th of September at 20:30. The start of this parade is on the square of Sant Bernat Calbó.

La Merce Festival
In September, the Catalan capital celebrates one of the city's most important holidays, La Merce. Traditionally, the main events take place in the Old Town, in the port (Moll de la Fusta), on the beach (Fòrum) and at the Montjuic. The entertainment program offers a variety of street shows, including performances of castellers, costumed parades of "Giants", stunning fireworks and lots of parties at various venues in Barcelona. The culmination of the holiday will be a fascinating fire procession called Correfoc.

Grapes harvest in Alella 2017
The Wine Festival Alella 2017 will take place in a small, cozy town, located just a 15-minute drive from Barcelona, from 7 to 10 September 2017. The 43rd edition includes tours at local wineries, various street fairs, wine tastings and traditional sausage BBQs in the town's restaurants and fascinating street parades and fireworks. You will have a chance to attend various performances by musicians, traditional dances - sardana and entertaining workshops for children. In addition, according to tradition, the culmination of the festival will be "correfoc" (which means "run of fire" in Catalan)!

The gastronomical event, Brunch in the City', which has become popular among fans of electronic music, gourmets and simply inquisitive travellers, goes closer to the nature! In September, the event will take place in the Joan Bross Gardens on Montjuic. This outdoor area will become an ideal place for a pleasant pastime with family or friends. At the "Brunch in the Park" event you can listen to performances by various international DJs, visit the gastronomic area, and stroll through the rows of the vintage market stalls and obviously spend a great time among interesting people! David Bowie Is
The exhibition dedicated to the work of the famous artist David Bowie, finished on the 25 of September at the Museum of Design of Barcelona. In the middle of September the exhibition "Björk Digital", dedicated to experimental electronic music and virtual reality, will leave the building of the Center for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona. All fans of Bjork still have a chance to see digital and video works presented in the form of an exciting route through the musical and artistic universe of the singer. The tour is a one and a half hour immersion in the world of virtual reality, creating the effect of "presence" of the singer at arm's length. The project was based on the album Bjork "Vulnicura".
